The futures of ageing is a global issue. This micro-Futuring workshop focused on the futures associated with senior livingry including accommodation, universal design, sustainable design, policy and so on. The 5 hour workshop used Sohail Inayatullah’s Futures Triangle Analysis (FTA) to frame this macro issue using the pushes of the present, the pulls of the future, and the weights of history and tradition, to map out this futures landscape of how and where seniors will be living, prefer to be living in the near-mid future. The final stage of the workshop embarked upon a preliminary backcasting exercise with a view to mapping out the steps and stages that need to be achieved from the present in order to achieve transformational futures. A follow-up strategy is currently being designed based on the findings of this workshop.
